Written Communication
GAMSAT Section 2 course
The full essay-writing system, available with or without personalised marking. No essay memorisation and no generic advice, just practical strategies and real feedback at a fraction of what other courses charge.
Section 2 is where students tend to see the biggest score jumps.
How it works

- Video and written lessons. 35 lessons covering ideas, structure and style.
- Sample essays. High-scoring essays to study and learn from.

Who this course is for
- You find it hard to come up with something interesting to say about a prompt
- Your essays feel fine to you, but your score isn’t where you need it to be
- You’ve been told to “just practise more” and it hasn’t helped
- You want feedback from a person, not a rubric or an AI
It’s less suited to you if you’re looking for pre-written essays to memorise. Markers tend to notice, and it doesn’t build the skill you need on the day.

What is the difference between Task A and Task B?
Task A is generally focused on socio-cultural issues and task B is generally focused on more personal and social issues.
How long should a GAMSAT essay be?
There is no set perfect length, but generally it is better to have a shorter essay that is well structured and well written than a longer essay that rambles.
Can I memorise essays and adapt them on the day?
I always advocate for having a list of good points sna examples that you can use on the day rather than memorising whole essays. When students memorise whole essays they can struggle to adapt them on the day and end up underperforming. As ACER itself says: "preprepared responses and responses that do not relate to the
topic will receive a low score".
Do I need to respond to all of the quotes?
You need to respond to the theme of the quotes
Should my essay be argumentative or reflective?
Both and neither. Write to your strengths. If you are good at writing reflective then write reflective. If you are good at writing argumentative then write argumentative. If neither of those styles suit you then find another style. You can score top marks with any style.
Do spelling and grammar mistakes affect my score?
As ACER says: "spelling and punctuation errors will not
impact your scores"
What is a good GAMSAT Section 2 score?
That is a complex question because a good S2 score also depends on your S1 score, S3 score and GPA. But generally, anything above 70 would be considered good with above 75 great and about 80 excellent.
