GAMSAT Section 1 course
I’ve designed this course after five years of dedicated tutoring and delivering GAMSAT preparation programs — so I know exactly where candidates tend to stall. Whether it’s tone, inference, logic or abstract reasoning, the mission is simple: you’ll learn to read like a GAMSAT marker.
How it works
- Diagnostic GAMSAT paper. You’ll complete a timed paper; I’ll analyse your attempt, breaking your performance down by question type and identifying your key weak areas. That way we focus your limited time on the areas that give you the best return.
- Hours of video and written lessons. Strategy tutorials, in-depth breakdowns of every question type and text type, and walkthroughs of some of the hardest ACER-style passages.
- Quizzes and marked assignments. Unlike many courses, this isn’t “do it yourself and hope it works”. You complete them, I mark them, and you get detailed feedback and guidance.
- A diagnostic GAMSAT paper, marked and broken down by question type
- Four modules of video and written lessons
- Quizzes and short-answer assignments that I mark personally
- Downloadable PDF resources
- A final short-answer practice bank
Who this course is for
- You’ve done a lot of practice questions and your score has stopped moving
- You often narrow it down to two answers and pick the wrong one
- Poetry, cartoons or dense graphs slow you down
- You’re resitting and want a different approach
Why the course is built this way
Studying for Section 1 is like learning tennis. If you want to improve, you don’t just play matches. You work on your serve. You drill your footwork. You fix your backhand. Then you play.
Most students do MCQs endlessly — but they never improve, because they haven’t trained the individual skills. Instead, you need to isolate the weak skill, practise it, then test it.
Why so many short-answer questions?
The GAMSAT is multiple choice, so why write? Because writing short answers is the fastest way to expose and fix reasoning gaps. Multiple-choice can trick you into thinking you understand something, especially when you guess correctly or lean into elimination strategies. But short answers force you to articulate your thinking. No hiding. No flukes. Just clarity or confusion revealed.
That’s why short answers are woven throughout the course and why they make up the final practice bank.
